Care Coordinator

Working Pattern7am - 3pm Monday to Friday (subject to operational changes)
Reports to: Executive Assistant to Directors
Salary: £18,000 - £22,000 DOE

The Company

LDC Care Co is an expanding family-owned care provider with over 50 services across Kent. We employ over 350 staff to support adults with highly complex learning disabilities and mental health diagnoses within residential and supported living environments which aim to enable individuals to live as independently as possible within their local communities.

The Role

We are looking for a highly organised Care Coordinator to join our Operations Team who will support in orchestrating the smooth running of the care and support services we provide across our 50+ locations.

 

You will be a key figure in the planning and coordination of care delivery in accordance with commissioned levels of support, and will share responsibility for the covering of absence to ensure delivery levels remain according to the needs of the individuals.

 

You will also support in the recruitment and retention of care staff by supporting in processes which seek to optimise staffing levels across the organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for staff absence, and logging as appropriate on systems with follow-up actions highlighted to the relevant Service Manager.

  • Liaise with Service Managers around planned and unplanned absences, and organise meetings between staff and management relating to absence levels.

  • Cover vacant shifts with suitable staff to ensure that appropriate staffing levels are maintained across all services, and update rotas with confirmed cover arrangements.

  • Liaise with staffing agencies to make cover arrangements, and ensure that bookings are logged on the relevant systems.

  • Maintain accurate records on all relevant systems relating to staff absence, cover arrangements, and care delivery.

  • Support the HR Department with light recruitment duties, e.g. attending interviews for care staff.

  • General office duties, including call handling, data entry, and maintaining filing systems.

Desirable Skills, Abilities, and Personal Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a similar role or within a social care setting is highly desirable.

  • Excellent organisation and logistical skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent ability to build and maintain relationships.

  • Ability to use IT programmes and maintain systems with full accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to solve problems and find solutions.

  • Be adaptable to changes in the working day.
