Our busy HR Department is situated within our Dover Head Office where you will work alongside the growing team of HR and Learning & Development professionals to support the operational and strategic functions of the business.

About The Role

People are at the heart of LDC Care Co: from the people we support, to the people we employ.

This is a highly “hands on” role. As a pivotal part of the team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our workforce culture and ensuring the wellbeing of our staff teams. You will be the go-to expert for HR-related matters, providing operational support and coaching across the organisation. Your expertise will help us to attract, develop, and retain the best talent, ensuring we can continue to deliver exceptional care and support to those who need it most.

The role will also ensure we are compliant with our regulatory bodies and other legislative authorities in all employment-related areas.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Employee Relations: manage complex employee relations cases, providing expert advice and support to managers and staff.

  • Performance Management: drive performance management initiatives, including appraisals, feedback, and development plans.

  • Data Analytics: use HR data to support informed decision-making, development, and improvement.

  • Compliance: insert and maintain processes to support oversight of compliance, including with regulatory requirements relevant to the sector.

  • Policy Review: be a part of the process which reviews policies and contributes to updates related to changes in employment law.

  • Employee Wellbeing: drive practices which support employee wellbeing and uphold the values of the organisation.

  • Coaching & Development: be a reliable resource for line managers, building people management skills across the organisation.

The Person

We acknowledge that it’s not all about the qualifications and what it says on your CV, it’s about whether we’re the right fit for each other!

For us, it’s essential that you have experience in fast-paced HR environment, and are able to give examples of times where you have needed to provide helpful guidance on a range of complex employment-related matters. You may feel you have a specific area of expertise, or that you have a good generalist understanding of current HR affairs with experience within a regulated service being highly desirable and you will need to have an understanding of the importance of compliance in relation to staffing and onboarding, and how regulated organisations can maintain compliance throughout the employment lifecycle.

In addition:

  • You will have, or be working towards, a CIPD Level 5

  • You will ideally hold active CIPD membership

  • You will have experience in a regulated sector, ideally within social care and knowledge of the Care Quality Commission

  • You will have in-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and be able to demonstrate awareness of pending changes to employment practices

  • Attention to detail and accuracy are key! You will be a meticulous worker and be the go-to for proofing

  • You will be able to demonstrate strong influencing skills and ability to give and receive feedback

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • You will be able to demonstrate the values of the organisation in day-to-day working: Commitment, Accountability, Responsibility, and Excellence!

  • The post holder is responsible for ensuring their knowledge remains up to date in all areas of relevant legislation
